The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (Ministry) ensures a healthy living environment for all the citizens of the Republic of Slovenia promotes and coordinates efforts towards sustainable development which besides the concern for social welfare includes wise and efficient use of natural resources. In achieving the goals of sustainable development Ministry collaborates with local communities on the principles of partnership and subsidiarity. It provides flexibility in creating and implementing policies and measures for sustainable development by encouraging the participation of individuals and groups and civil society organizations.
